2023 Mazda MX-5 Miata Sport Trim

The Miata Sport trim has a starting MSRP of $28,050. The Sport model’s sleek exterior has LED headlights, taillights, and daytime running lights. The front and rear bumpers and all door handles come in body color, while the power-operated side mirrors come in black. You can choose Soul Red Crystal Metallic or Jet Black Mica for your exterior paint.

Your Sport trim rolls on 16-inch aluminum alloy wheels with a Metallic Black finish and high-performance tires. A black cloth convertible top folds neatly with one hand, and you get a rear-mounted mast antenna.

You enter the cabin using Mazda’s advanced keyless entry system and start the engine using the push-button start system. The leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel has all your cruise and audio controls. You also have a leather-wrapped shift knob and parking brake. Premium cloth seats come in black with black seat back bar trim. A mesh aero board wind blocker helps keep the wind at bay when the top is down, and your rear glass window has a defogger providing the clearest views.

In-vehicle technology runs through a 7-inch touch screen with pinch-zoom capability, or you can use the multi-function commander control. Some systems use voice commands thanks to Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth technologies. You can listen to internet radio on your HD radio system using the pre-installed Aha, Pandora, and Stitcher apps. Six speakers, including two in the driver’s side headrest, deliver an immersive listening experience. The Sport trim has one auxiliary audio input jack and two USB audio inputs to keep everyone connected and charged.

2023 Mazda MX-5 Miata Club Trim

The Miata Club trim starts at $31,550 and offers significant upgrades as a build-to-order-only model. You have many of the same exterior features as the Sport trim, plus you get a black rear lip spoiler and black front air dam for improved aerodynamics. In addition, Mazda added a second shark-fin antenna mounted on the trunk lid. You also get larger 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels with a Metallic Black finish and high-performance tires. Mazda has five additional exterior colors available such as Zircon Sand Metallic, Machine Gray Metallic, and Deep Crystal Blue Mica.

Inside, your seats feature premium cloth upholstery with light gray stitching and Piano Black seat back bar trim. Mazda added heated seats with three heat settings for comfort. Your door trim matches your exterior paint, adding a refined style to the interior.

The Mazda Connect infotainment system runs on the same 7-inch touch screen. However, the Club trim comes with a Bose audio system with nine speakers, a subwoofer, and the AudioPilot driver’s and passenger’s headrest speakers. In addition, Mazda offers a free three-month trial subscription to SiriusXM satellite radio.

A Brembo BBS Recaro option package costs $4,500. It adds Brembo front brakes with red calipers and Mazda rear brakes with red calipers. You also get BBS forged 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels in Dark Gunmetal finish, an Aero Kit that includes side sill extensions, and a rear bumper skirt in Brilliant Black. In addition, this option package upgrades your seats to the heated black Recaro bolster sport seats.

2023 Mazda MX-5 Miata Grand Touring Trim

The MX-5 Miata’s top-tier Grand Touring trim adds the premium comfort and style you expect from Mazda at a starting price of $33,050. Exterior upgrades include an adaptive front lighting system, high beam control, and auto on/off headlights. You also get rain-sensing windshield wipers, body-color heated power outside mirrors, and an auto-dimming driver’s side mirror. In addition, the 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels come in a Dark Silver finish.

Interior upgrades include premium leather upholstery, heated seats, and black doorsill trim plates with stainless steel inserts. Black leather is standard, or you can opt for Terra Cotta Nappa leather for $300. Plus, you get an auto-dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink. Your in-vehicle technology includes built-in navigation and a three-year subscription to SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link.

2023 Mazda MX-5 Miata Powertrain

Every MX-5 Miata comes with the same SKYACTIV-G engine. This 2.0-liter engine has dual overhead cams and 16 valves with variable valve timing and electronic fuel injection. Mazda pairs this engine with its SKYACTIV-MT six-speed manual transmission with a short-throw shifter. On the Grand Touring trim, you can opt for a six-speed Sport automatic transmission with paddle shifters.

This powertrain makes 181 horsepower and 151 lb-ft of torque and offers near-perfect 52/48 power-to-weight distribution that delivers a thrilling driving experience. The EPA estimates the MX-5 Miata gets 26 mpg on surface roads and 34 mpg on highways.

Mazda i-Activsense Driver-Assist Systems

Mazda equips the MX-5 Miata with a suite of driver-assist technologies designed to elevate your driving experience and improve safety. The suite includes a lane departure warning system that tracks your Miata when you’re driving within marked lanes above 44 mph. When the system detects an unintentional drift, it gives audible and visual warnings so you can take corrective action.

A smart city brake support system works at speeds between two and 18 mph, scanning the road ahead for obstacles. If the system predicts a possible collision, it alerts you while adjusting the brake pads for faster, firmer braking. Should you react slowly, the system activates emergency braking.

Mazda includes blind-spot monitoring with the suite, which uses optical sensors to alert you when vehicles approach or are present in your blind spots. Rear cross-traffic alerts use similar technology to alert you when vehicles pass behind you while you’re in reverse.
