Where to find the best Thanksgiving food in Fort Worth, TX

Reata

Reata opened its first restaurant in Alpine in 1995, but the Fort Worth location is just as great. If you visit Reata on any typical day, you’ll enjoy popular favorites, such as blackened buffalo ribeye steaks, chicken enchiladas, and tenderloin tamales. This year, you can expect a slightly different menu as Thanksgiving approaches. While Reata has traditionally been closed on Thanksgiving Day, the restaurant provides food you can order ahead and pick up before the big day to warm up at home.

Last year, the restaurant’s Take and Bake menu included cranberry chutney, sweet potato casserole, roasted mushrooms, bourbon creamed corn, jalapeno and bacon macaroni and cheese, and bacon-wrapped green bean bundles. The restaurant also offered a variety of 10-inch pies, including pecan, pumpkin, and buttermilk pie. Each dish serves about eight people. You’ll want to reserve quickly when this year’s Take and Bake menu drops.

The Capital Grille

The Capital Grille is known for its sophisticated atmosphere and menu. The usual fare at Capital Grille includes fresh seafood and thick steaks. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner and is popular with groups. Plus, the restaurant offers a large wine selection. In the past, the restaurant has offered limited reservations for Thanksgiving.

The Thanksgiving menu at The Capital Grille has included the usual Thanksgiving classics. The Capital Grille boasts a full meal for adults and children. Last year’s meal included slow-roasted turkey, brioche stuffing, French green beans, cranberry-pear chutney, mashed potatoes, and even another serving of mashed potatoes with hot honey. Diners have also raved about the dessert, a tasty pumpkin cheesecake.

Wicked Butcher

If you’re looking for a modern steakhouse in Fort Worth, Wicked Butcher is a wonderful place to dine. The art deco design creates a unique atmosphere, and the cosmopolitan fare sets the food apart from other local steakhouses. In fact, the restaurant is also open for breakfast and lunch, serving everything from breakfast sandwiches to filet mignon.

In the past, Wicked Butcher has offered its regular food menu in addition to Thanksgiving classics, including roasted turkey breast, butternut squash soup, and pumpkin cheesecake. If you plan to eat at the steakhouse on or near the holiday, make sure you make a reservation to avoid the rush.

Lucile’s

If you’ve been looking for a casual family-style Thanksgiving dinner, Lucile’s is perfect. The restaurant and bar serve lunch and dinner every day of the week. The American classics on the menu are traditional, but they’re still tasty. Plus, the bar is home to award-winning martinis.

In recent years, Lucile’s has taken orders for Thanksgiving family meals that feed four people. Each dinner box comes with roasted turkey, apple sausage dressing, gravy, candied yams, mashed potatoes, and pumpkin pie. Last year, the bistro was also open for lunch service on Thanksgiving, but it closed at 4 p.m. The menu included turkey, salmon, prime rib, lobster bisque, and live Maine lobster.

Toro Toro

Toro Toro offers Pan-Latin food that brings together contemporary flavors from Central and South America. Everything on the menu is served family-style and is paired with Latin cocktails. Last year, Toro Toro served Thanksgiving foods with a bit of a twist. In addition to turkey breast, the menu also included chorizo cornbread stuffing and cranberry sauce flavored with lime and tequila. The Thanksgiving meal is typically served family-style for the entire group. Wine pairings may also be available.

Last year, Il Modo’s Thanksgiving menu included herb-roasted turkey and a tomato basil gravy. Italian sausage stuffing, Brussels sprouts. Even spaghetti was on the menu. Pumpkin pie was served for dessert. The meal is typically served in-house for lunch and dinner. Reservations will likely be required again.

Additionally, the restaurant serves customized family meal plans that Fort Worth locals can buy on a subscription basis.

In the past, Meyer & Sage provided Thanksgiving side dishes and small meals.
