For fun, local Easter entertainment, check out the Easter Eggstravaganza at Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center on Saturday, April 9 from 1-3 p.m. This free family event has egg hunts, arts and crafts, face painting, and games for everyone, whether they’re young children or simply still young at heart. Don’t forget to grab your camera for a special appearance from the Easter Bunny while you relax and enjoy a Fort Worth spring day.
Held at the community center’s grounds in Fort Worth’s Stop Six neighborhood, you can connect with your neighbors and friends while learning about all the other events and services the center offers. Whether you live nearby or are just passing through the area, you might find another spring activity for the entire family. Grab your egg-hunting glasses for this annual Fort Worth tradition.
Dallas Easter Eggstravaganza
On Sunday, April 27, you can bring your family on a brief trip over to Dallas to experience the Dallas Easter Eggstravaganza. Held at Lofty Spaces, this event runs from 12-6 p.m. and includes a variety of local vendors geared toward the family. You can enjoy face painting, snow cones, food, and giveaways. With three Easter egg hunts boasting over 6,000 eggs total and an Easter Bunny appearance, this is a great way to celebrate. Although this event is free, it requires registration, so grab your tickets today and get ready to hop into spring.
Spring Fun Festival in Keller
For spring weekends filled with so much Easter fun they might burst, come out to the Spring Fun Festival in Keller on Saturday, April 16. Located right outside the Keller Town Hall, this festival runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and offers the best of spring and Easter, all in one. Enjoy seasonal vendors, food, games, and activities. You can also expect an impressive egg hunt with separate start times for kids of different ages. Admission to this festival is free for the whole family, and that means the whole family because pets are welcome to enjoy the festivities, too.
Easter Bunny Family Paint Class
When you and your family have hunted all the eggs you can manage, you can explore your artistic side while celebrating the holiday season at Studio 9’s Easter Bunny Family Paint Class. Located in Bridgeport, this studio is a great place to take your family for a fun and informative day of art. From 2-4 p.m. Saturday, April 2, the studio’s instructors will provide you with all the instructions you need to paint the Easter Bunny on canvas and take your work home with you to brighten the season.
If you’re artistically challenged, there’s no need to worry. You’ll trace your design on the canvas and color it in like a coloring book. When all’s said and done, you’ll be surprised at the masterpieces you and your family create. Tickets for this event cost $25, and you can purchase them online or in person at the studio. With this fee, you’ll get access to the event and all supplies. While this is an all-age event, the studio recommends participants be 5 or older.
He Is Risen 1 Mile, 5K, 10K, 13.1, 26.2
If you and your family want to get a bit of exercise, you can do it in seasonal style with the He is Risen 1 mile, 5K, 10K, 13.1, 26.2 virtual race. Hosted by Moon Jogger’s Virtual Run Events, you can complete this safe, socially distanced race wherever and whenever you like. After registering, you’ll receive a medal and bib in the mail, which you can choose to wear as you run your desired course any time during April. After you run, you can report your time to event organizers to see how you stack up to the competition.
Intended as a fun and enjoyable way to get out and get some exercise in the spirit of the season, you can choose your favorite course or opt for something totally new as you run at whatever pace works for you. Challenge yourself for your best time or just get out and soak in the spring air with your loved ones. Pre-registration is required, with tickets coming in at a reduced $16 per runner. If you can’t wait to get in the spirit, you can connect with your fellow runners through the organization’s Facebook community.
Praise Hunt in the Park
For some Christian-centered Easter fun, check out the Praise Hunt in the Park. Hosted by FUMC Midlothian on Sunday, April 10, this free event features music, an ascension bridge, multiple egg hunts filled with more than 10,000 pieces of candy, and activities and stations focused on the Christian meaning of the season. The first egg hunt starts at 3:15 p.m. for the youngest children and will restart every 20 minutes.
