Looking for a vegetarian restaurant in Fort Worth? You might be surprised to find that you have several to choose from. Whether you’re in the mood for a meatless burger, vegan Mexican food, or a simple green salad, you’re sure to find it in the area.

Don’t miss King Tut Egyptian Restaurant, located at 1512 Magnolia Avenue in the hospital district. Serving authentic Egyptian fare, King Tut isn’t a vegetarian restaurant, but it has a sizable vegetarian menu filled with an array of healthy sides and entrees. Start your meal with the vegetable soup, which is tomato-based and filled with veggies. If you’d prefer a salad as your starter, several options are on the menu, including the eggplant salad, featuring leaf lettuce topped with onion, tomato, cucumber, pickles, and eggplant.

King Tut’s vegetarian menu is substantial and contains items such as veggie couscous, an authentic Egyptian dish served with mixed vegetables and topped with tomato sauce. Another popular choice is the falafel plate, which comes with six deep-fried veggie balls made from chickpeas, fava beans, leaks, and cilantro. If you’re in the mood for something simple, try the veggie combo plate: a set of three grilled, sauteed, or steamed vegetables served with a side of rice or French fries. 

King Tut is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for lunch and from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. for dinner. It’s closed on Sunday, and reservations are recommended for Friday and Saturday nights. Visit the website or call 817-335-3051 to reserve a table.      

Spiral Bakery and Diner 

Stop by the Spiral Bakery and Diner, located at 1314 Magnolia Avenue, for award-winning vegan fare. If you visit for breakfast, choose from items such as gluten-free pancakes, biscuits and gravy, and vegan breakfast tortillas. If you’re a coffee drinker, make sure to order the bottomless coffee to enjoy with your breakfast; it’s both organic and fair-trade certified. 

When you dine in for lunch or dinner, check out the burger menu, and choose from burgers made from soy and wheat, cashew and quinoa, or Beyond Burger. Sandwich lovers have plenty of choices as well, including Spiral Bakery’s signature baked potato and grilled cheese sandwich, which is a buttery concoction filled with home fries, vegan bacon bits, sour cream, green onions, and melted cheese with ranch dressing on the side. 

In addition to its breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus, Spiral Bakery offers its guests an array of smoothies and specialty drinks as well. A popular choice is the Biz, which is a fruit smoothie made from blueberries, bananas, and almond milk. If you’re looking for a caffeine fix, try a latte, mocha, or espresso. Hot cocoa is on the menu as well and is made with your choice of almond or soy milk.

Boulevard of Greens 

If you’re looking for an eatery serving 100% plant-based smoothies and smoothie bowls, look no further than Boulevard of Greens, located at 2700 Horne Street. One exciting choice for fall is the Blue Ridge Parkway, which is a seasonal smoothie made with organic pumpkin, coco whip, organic bananas, coconut milk, and granola. If you’d prefer a smoothie bowl, try the Brooklyn Bridge Bowl, It contains bananas, house-made raw almond milk, agave chocolate protein powder, and raw cocoa, and it’s topped with banana slices, strawberries, coconut, and pecan.   

A variety of cold-pressed juice is also on the menu, such as the Pennsylvania Avenue. It’s a refreshing blend of cucumber, apple, carrot, and orange juice. While you’re there, check out the pastry selection, where you’ll find banana muffins, chocolate cupcakes, sugar cookies with sprinkles, pumpkin pie, and more. Boulevard of Greens is open Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., and on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.     

5AM Drip Coffee Roasters 

Enjoy a 100% vegan menu at 5AM Drip Coffee Roasters. Located at 1201 Evans Avenue near I-35 West, 5AM Drip serves breakfast and brunch all day. Start your day with the barbacoa and egg breakfast taco, made from in-house tofu scramble, jackfruit barbacoa, avocado slices, and house salsa. If you love avocados, don’t miss the Ultimate, which is a generous slice of avocado toast topped with 5AM’s signature mozzarella cheese tofu scramble, house-made chorizo, avocado slices, and microgreens.

Lunch starts at 10:30 a.m. and features a fantastic menu, including the Smoked Bandito: a sandwich served on sourdough and topped with smoked brisket-style jackfruit, melted vegan cheese, and house-made spicy crema. Be sure to check out the Sweet BBQ Vegan Chicken Sandwich, which features breaded-and-baked cauliflower seasoned with 5AM’s signature barbecue sauce. It’s served on a toasted bun and topped with lettuce, pickles, and mustard. 5AM Drip is open Thursday through Tuesday, and its hours vary throughout the week, so check the website for more information. It’s closed on Wednesday. 

Belenty’s Love 

For vegan Mexican cuisine, try Belenty’s Love, located at 3516 Blue Bonnet Circle. The menu is sizable and includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Check out the Healthy Heart menu, which includes the Mexican Salad, featuring romaine lettuce, black beans, tomatoes, spinach, red onion, and avocado topped with spicy corn dressing. For lunch or dinner, try one of Belenty’s plates, such as the chickenless fajita plate, which provides generous servings of seasoned rice, beans, tofu, guacamole, and sour cream. 

A kid’s menu is available and includes items like vegan quesadillas, tacos, and tostadas. Belenty’s Love is open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. It’s closed on Sunday.
