The 8 Top Dog Parks To Visit In Fort Worth, TX

Whether you’re living the apartment life, lacking a fenced yard, or just looking for new friends for your canine companion (and yourself), dog parks can be a great resource. These dog parks in and around Fort Worth, Texas, will wow you and your four-legged friends with wide open spaces for off-leash play, agility courses, wooded areas, and water features such as ponds and splash pads.

ZBonz Dog Park

ZBonz Dog Park offers an entire 10 acres of off-leash space for your dog to run around, with 7 acres devoted to large dogs and 3 acres to small dogs. It also includes some agility items, and, for those dogs who have never met a puddle they didn’t like, it features two lakes they will love to splash around in. Humans will be happy to hear that there’s a washing station to rinse off the inevitable mud and benches and shelters so you can take a break out of the sun.

Fort Woof Dog Park

As “Fort Worth’s first fenced off-leash dog park,” the award-winning Fort Woof features 5 acres of space divided for small and large dogs to run around in. Your dog will love having plenty of room with agility courses on each side. The park also includes water fountains, washing stations, and shaded picnic tables for pet parents, which are vital in the Texas sun.

• Location: 751 Beach St., Fort Worth, Texas.
• Hours: 5 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Monday.
• Park is closed every Monday from 5:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. for maintenance.

Freedom Dog Park

Though it’s a bit of a trek from downtown Fort Worth, Freedom Dog Park in Trophy Club is definitely worth the visit. This large dog park comes in at 8.3 acres of leash-free space, and it features a wooded zone and areas for large and small dogs, each with its own separate training and agility equipment. The park provides water fountains for humans and dogs, a wash-out area, and plenty of shaded seating. It also features a dino-themed playground so you can tire out your non-furry kid at the same time.

• Location: 2675 Trophy Park Drive, Trophy Club, Texas.
• Hours: 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and Friday through Sunday.
• Park is closed every Thursday for maintenance.

MUTTS Canine Cantina

A combination dog-friendly bar and grill as well as a dog park, MUTTS Canine Cantina offers a unique experience where you and your dog can go and play. While the park has a membership fee, your pup will get ample space to run around and water tubs to splash in. Perhaps best of all, there are “bark rangers” who clean up the area, play with the dogs, and even break up fights so you can feel relaxed about your dog’s safety as you watch them play.

They also have “Pawty” packages complete with decor and doggie desserts so you can throw your pup a party with all their friends.

Dog Park at Villages of Bear Creek

This dog park in Euless consists of 3 acres divided into sections for large and small dogs. With large rocks and built-in agility equipment, your pup is sure to have a great time running around and on top of the obstacles. Each area also features water fountains, dog-washing stations, and shaded seating. And, with the park’s 3-mile nature trail, there is also on-leash fun to be had before or after your visit.

• Location: 1951 Bear Creek Parkway, Euless, Texas.
•  Hours: Sunrise to sunset, Friday through Wednesday.
• Park is closed every Thursday for maintenance.

Bark Park at Bear Creek Park

A recent addition, having just opened in 2019, the Bark Park is Grapevine’s first dog park and measures in at a whopping 14 acres. This includes four separate “paddocks” for different dog sizes and activities. Perhaps the most exciting, at least for those water-loving dogs, is a motion-activated splash pad and an all-weather area, which is lined with artificial grass and concrete to keep your pup from getting muddy. There’s also an agility course, wash stations, water fountains, and plenty of shaded seating.

• Location: Texas 360 Service Road, Grapevine, Texas.
•  Hours: 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day.

Tipps Canine Hollow

For those looking for somewhere shady to hang out on a hot Texas day, Tipps Canine Hollow is filled with trees that offer plenty of cool spots for you and your dog (with squirrels to chase). With 2 acres devoted to large dogs and 1 acre to small dogs, your pup will have plenty of space to run around. There are water fountains and picnic tables for humans to enjoy and appreciate this lovely park.

• Location: 7804 Davis Blvd., North Richland Hills, Texas.
•  Hours: 7 a.m. to dusk Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday through Sunday, and 11 a.m. to dusk on Wednesday.
• Park is closed from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Wednesdays for maintenance.

Central Bark Dog Park

Central Bark Dog Park, located in Grand Prairie, has three fenced sections: one each for small and large dogs and one that can be rotated. The park contains agility equipment, natural rock obstacles for your pup to play on, and trees and patches of unmown adaptive grasses that are sure to provide an interesting sniff. And, with plenty of lighting and all-hours access, this is one of the few places you could bring your pup for some midnight fetch to tire them out.

It’s right by Prairie Paws Adoption Center. So be careful, or you’ll be coming home with an extra family member when you visit.
