Where To Find The Best Christmas Lights In Fort Worth, TX | Holiday Season
One of the best parts of the holiday season is getting to view all of the light displays. Whether it’s a neighbor who goes all out every year or a professional light display, there are plenty of places to get in the holiday spirit in and around Fort Worth. We’ve rounded up some of the best holiday lights across Fort Worth and the Dallas Metroplex area. Here’s a guide to some of our favorite Christmas lights and light shows.
Texas Motor Speedway
The Gift of Lights annual holiday light show will take place again at the Texas Motor Speedway. Thursday, Nov. 25, is opening night, and the show will run on Friday and Saturday nights through Jan. 2. Santa’s Village will open up again for the 2021 season, and Santa will be there ready for pictures with the kids and adults. Santa’s Village covers over 22,000 square feet and features Olaf from Frozen, a train ride, and a place where the kids can even make their own Christmas decorations.
This 2-mile drive-thru light show takes about 45 minutes to traverse, depending on how fast or slow the vehicles ahead of you want to travel. The display includes over 3 million LED lights with lots of scenes and displays to take in from the comfort of your own vehicle.
The Modern Art Museum
Stop by The Modern Art Museum from Nov. 1 through Feb. 6 to see the impressive light display at the Modern Lights exhibition. The Modern trees come to life with festive lights during the holiday season. The museum offers First Friday at the Museum, where the Modern Cafe and the Modern museum team up to bring visitors live music from the First Friday House Band. There are also drink specials and light bites in the Grand Lobby.
Admission on Friday nights is free and includes the galleries. The museum even offers extended hours on Fridays and stays open until 8 p.m. so everyone can have a chance to see the lights.
Prairie Lights at Lynn Creek Park

Lynn Creek Park in nearby Grand Prairie, Texas, has one of the largest light tunnels in the area. The Prairie Lights Holiday Light Experience allows visitors to drive through the 2-mile display which features over 4 million lights and arch displays. This experience also features a Christmas village with hot cocoa, snacks, and a lit-up walk-through Christmas forest.
This holiday event starts on Thanksgiving Day and runs through Dec. 31. General admission tickets are $40 per car, are valid for any day during the 2021 season, and include carnival rides, the walk-through forest, and the Holiday Village. If you want to upgrade your experience, choose the fast pass. You can get it for $129 per car, and it includes all the activities, along with a special entrance through the fast pass area.
Christmas in the Stockyards
The Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District offers a unique holiday experience. Head here to see lights strung throughout the district, including over Rodeo Plaza and Mule Alley. There is always a decorated Christmas tree on the Livestock Exchange Building’s front lawn and at the Hotel Drover. Both Christmas tree lightings take place on Nov. 26, and Christmas in the Stockyard takes place on Dec. 7 starting at 10 a.m. and will go until to 5 p.m.
Fairmount National Historic District
It’s not the holidays in the Fort Worth area without a trip to the Fairmont National Historic District. This Fort Worth neighborhood always lights up for the holidays with spectacular displays. It all gets started on Dec. 11, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., where you can get your holidays off to a great start with a tour of all the Fairmount holiday displays.
The Fairmount Neighborhood Association has maps of all the homes participating, making it easy to create a plan to see everything. The association hands the maps out at the One Safe Place launch site, and in return for the map, they will appreciate a small donation.
Dallas Zoo
The Dallas Zoo light display will return for the 2021 season on Nov. 19 and run through Jan 2. The drive-thru experience runs for a mile and features over a million lights. It also has holiday-themed displays, 3D lighted sculptures, large animal lanterns, and more. To make the evening even more special, guests can order a holiday gift bag with treats and goodies to share with others in the car while you drive through the display. It comes with popcorn, souvenir cups, and other sweet treats. It’s all delivered to your car window while you wait to get into the zoo.
Admission for the Dallas Zoo is $65 per car for non-members and $50 for zoo members.
Holiday at the Arboretum
Make sure to visit the Dallas Arboretum for its holiday display. It features 12 25-foot Victorian gazebos representing the 12 days of Christmas, a German-inspired Christmas village, and the Dazzling Musical Tree with over 42,000 lights and Christmas music.
This holiday festival starts on Nov. 10 and runs through Dec. 31. The Arboretum’s annual tree lighting ceremony will take place on Dec. 9 for members only. Admission for non-members for the rest of the activities is $15 for adults and $10 for children.
Radiance! Featuring Frozen in Frisco
Take the short ride to Frisco to experience the Radiance! Holiday light display at Riders Field. This family-friendly attraction features a fantastic light show and much more. You can all take a ride down the two-story ice tubing hill, go ice skating, and ride the bumper cars on ice. There is even a 108-foot Ferris wheel that rises over the area for an unbelievable view of the lights.
Radiance! opens on Nov. 18 and runs through Jan 1. Admission starts at $19.99 for kids and $29.99 for adults.
