The 2024 Mazda CX-50 packs a standard 187-horsepower four-cylinder engine or an optional 256-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder that yields an impressive 320 lb-ft of torque and tows up to 3,500 pounds. All models boast all-wheel drive and six-speed automatic transmission, and higher trims boast a panoramic sunroof for exhilarating highway cruising. The CX-50 is known for its agile handling and exceptional ride comfort, and the 2024 offers an even better experience, having undergone a few tweaks to further improve suspension and steering. Inside the luxurious interior, there’s space for five across two rows of seats. The front seats are generous and well shaped, and the rear seats offer decent legroom. The cargo space (31.4 cubic feet, or 58.1 cubic feet with rear seats folded) is longer and wider, offering more utility. All models come with a tilt and telescoping steering wheel, a partially digital gauge display, push-button start, and a larger 10.3-inch screen on all but the base trim. The standard eight-speaker stereo gets an upgrade to a 12-speaker Bose stereo in the S Premium and above. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration hasn’t rated the 2024 model yet, but the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety awarded the 2023 model a Top Safety Pick.
